Description
The tiger's eye is called a translucent variety of quartz, with golden yellow, green, orange, blue, brown. The interesting feature of this stone is a linear iridescence, which looks like a moving silky glow. These lines alternate between gold and brown and are composed of fibrous crocodile. This characteristic visual phenomenon is known by the French word chatoyancy, which in Greek means "cat's eye", and is more pronounced in stones cut into hoods.
